Croeso i Ysgol Gynradd Llanfyllin Llywodraethwyr / Llanfyllin CP Primary School Governors
|Welcome to the Ysgol Gynradd Llanfyllin Llywodraethwyr/Governors pages. Here you will find information about the School’s Board of Governors.|
The governing board exists to provide strong strategic leadership to a school, ensuring accountability for its educational and financial performance. The 3 core functions of the Board are:
The Governing Body under the Local Management of Schools (LMS) now has fully delegated powers which means your Governing Body acts like a ‘Board of Directors’ in a business.
The composition of the Governing Body reflects the broad spectrum of the local community. The Chair is elected annually, at the AGM. You can see the current membership here at Llywodraethwyr / Governors Membership 2019/20.
Governors are volunteers. During the year 2018/19 no Governors were paid expenses for their work for the school, or travel costs as a result of training and meetings. All Governors agree to work within a shared Code of Conduct, which can be viewed here at Llywodraethwyr / Governors: Code of Conduct 2018-19.
The full Governing Body meets every term to discuss school business and to set its strategic direction. The Head Teacher provides regular detailed reports for discussion with the Governors concerning a wide range of issues such as staffing, curriculum development and pupil matters. To ensure that we carry out our delegated duties efficiently, Governors have attended training courses throughout the year, organised by Powys Local Authority. The Governors regularly visit the school during the school year. The Agenda and Minutes of the Governing Board can be viewed here at Llywodraethwyr / Governors Meeting Agendas and Minutes.
