As the Urdd competitions are early next year can you please pay membership ASAP if you wish for your child to take part. We will start practising the Folk Dancing, Disco/ Creative dance during this term, there will also be some practices after school – more information to follow.

FLU season is approaching and Powys School Immunisation team will be delivering the NASAL FLU Immunisation in all Powys schools – PRIMARY (September-October) SECONDARY (November – December). ALL students from Reception thru to YEAR 11 are eligible for the free vaccination. FLU clinics will also be held across sites in Powys. (An injectable form of the immunisation will be available for students who meet a specific criteria)

PLEASE see below the LINK to the FLU IMMUNISATION WEBSITE which gives direct access to the Electronic Consent form that is required to be complete for each student. Whether a YES or NO consent.

Er mwyn cymryd rhan yng nghystadlaethau chwaraeon yr Urdd fel aelod o dîm yr ysgol, bydd angen i’r plant fod yn aelodau o’r Urdd ar gyfer blwyddyn academaidd 2026-2027. Ceir rhagor o wybodaeth ac mae modd ymaelodi drwy ddilyn y ddolen hon: Join – urdd.cymru

Yn ogystal â hyn, bydd clybiau amser cinio yn dechrau’r wythnos nesaf. Os oes gan eich plentyn ddiddordeb mewn ymarfer ei sgiliau wrth chwarae gemau, cofiwch sicrhau bod cit ymarfer corff yn yr ysgol bob dydd.

Bydd y clwb amser cinio yn cael ei gynnal cyn amser cinio’r plant, felly byddant yn cael eu cinio ychydig yn hwyrach nag arfer yn y ffreutur.

We would like to inform you that our sports club will begin on Wednesday 23rd of September. As the Urdd competitions will be starting soon, our focus this term will be on football.

The club will finish by 4:30pm.

In order to take part in Urdd sports competitions as a member of the school team, children will need to be members of the Urdd for the 2026-2027 academic year. Further information and details on how to join can be found by following this link : Join – urdd.cymru

In addition, lunchtime clubs will begin next week. If your child is interested in practising their skills while playing games, please ensure that they bring their PE kit every day.

The lunchtime club will take place before the children have lunch, so they will have their lunch slightly later than usual in the canteen.

Important Notice: Social Media Safety, TikTok Age Limits & School Safeguarding

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are writing to alert you to a recent issue involving unofficial, false social media accounts (specifically on TikTok) created using our school’s name. A small number of these accounts have posted manipulated images of staff accompanied by unkind and inappropriate comments.

We take the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of both our pupils and staff extremely seriously. We want to remind all parents of key safeguarding and legal facts regarding social media:

• Age Requirements: The minimum legal age to hold a TikTok account is 13 years old. Accounts set up by children under 13 violate platform terms, and false age declarations risk immediate account termination.
• Legal & Disciplinary Impact: Creating fake accounts, impersonating others, or manipulating photos to cause distress constitutes online harassment and malicious communication under UK law. Off-site digital behaviour that targets school staff or brings the school into disrepute carries serious disciplinary consequences.

How You Can Help: We strongly ask all parents to take a few minutes today to sit down with your child and:

1. Check their devices and accounts: Look for any unofficial school accounts, secondary (“alt”) accounts, or content targeting school staff or pupils.
2. Review follow lists: Ensure your child is not following, liking, or sharing content from suspicious or malicious accounts.
3. Discuss digital responsibility: Remind them that sharing or liking harmful posts carries the same responsibility as creating them.

If you discover any malicious accounts or content, please instruct your child to unfollow, block, and delete them immediately, and report any concerns to the school.
