Cynlluniau ar gyfer caeau 3G yng nghanolfannau chwaraeon Powys
Mae cynlluniau ar y gweill i osod caeau 3G newydd yng nghanolfannau chwaraeon
yng ngogledd Powys, yn ôl y cyngor sir a’i bartneriaid hamdden.
Mae Cyngor Sir Powys a Freedom Leisure am osod y caeau newydd yng Nghanolfan Chwaraeon Llanfair Caereinion a Chanolfan Chwaraeon Llanfyllin yn lle’r hen gaeau. Byddai’r caeau 3G yn addas ar gyfer pêl-droed, hoci a nifer o gampau awyr agored eraill.
Byddai’r cynlluniau hefyd yn cynnwys gosod goleuadau newydd sy’n arbed ynni.
Bydd cais cynllunio’n cael ei gyflwyno a bydd y broses tendro’n cychwyn yn fuan. Os bydd yn cael sêl bendith, fe allai’r gwaith fynd ymlaen yn yr haf.
Mae’r cynlluniau hyn ar gyfer y ddau gae newydd yn dilyn y buddsoddiad diweddar yn Llanidloes lle welwyd y cyngor yn gosod cae 3G newydd sbon yng nghanolfan chwaraeon y dref, sydd bellach yn cael ei reoli gan Freedom Leisure.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Rachel Powell, Aelod Cabinet dros Bobl Ifanc a Diwylliant: “Rwy wrth fy modd ein bod ni’n gweithio gyda Freedom Leisure ac yn awyddus i osod caeau 3G yn y canolfannau chwaraeon yn Llanfair Caereinion a Llanfyllin.
“Os bydd y datblygiadau hyn yn mynd ymlaen, nid yn unig y bydd yn dangos ymrwymiad i ddarparu cyfleusterau hamdden cynhwysol, hygyrch o ansawdd uchel i holl gymunedau Powys, ond bydd yn enghraifft wych arall o waith partneriaeth rhwng y cyngor a Freedom Leisure.”
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Phyl Davies, Aelod Cabinet dros Addysg ac Eiddo: “Un o amcanion y Strategaeth ar gyfer Trawsnewid Addysg ym Mhowys yw gwella hawliau a phrofiadau dysgwyr. Rydym wedi dechrau’r daith i wella hawliau a phrofiadau dysgwyr yn Llanfair Caereinion a Llanfyllin trwy greu ysgolion pob oed yn y ddwy dref.
“Bydd y caeau newydd hyn yn gwella cyfleusterau yn y ddau ganolfan ac yn helpu’r cyngor i ddiwallu’r nod hwn. Nid yn unig y bydd aelodau’r gymuned yn gallu elwa o’r
cyfleusterau a’r caeau newydd hyn, ond byddant hefyd yn helpu dysgwyr i wella’u sgiliau chwaraeon a’u lles.”
Dywedodd Gwyn Owen, Rheolwr Ardal Freedom Leisure ym Mhowys: “Fe allai’r caeau 3G newydd hyn fod yn fuddiol iawn i’n cwsmeriaid yn Llanfair Caereinion a Llanfyllin a’u helpu i gadw mor actif ac iach â phosibl. Byddai’r caeau hyn yn annog pawb i fwynhau gweithgareddau yn yr awyr agored.”
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Gareth Jones, sy’n Aelod dros ardal Llanfair Caereinion: “O’r diwedd, dyma newyddion gwych i nifer o grwpiau chwaraeon yn ein cymuned. Byddai’r cae 3G newydd yn adnodd gwych i Ysgol Bro Caereinion gan alluogi dysgwyr i wneud yn fawr o’u potensial yn y byd chwaraeon. Hoffwn ddiolch yn fawr i bawb sy’n gweithio’n galed i wneud i hyn ddigwydd.”
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Peter Lewis, Aelod dros ardal Llanfyllin: “Dyma newyddion gwych i Lanfyllin. Byddai’r cae 3G o fudd enfawr i Ysgol Llanfyllin a’r holl grwpiau chwaraeon sy’n defnyddio’r ganolfan hamdden, ond hefyd yn ei wneud yn fwy hwylus i grwpiau yn y cyffiniau i allu defnyddio cyfleusterau pob tywydd yn Llanfyllin.”
3G pitch plans for Powys sports centres
Plans to install new 3G pitches at two north Powys sports centres have been drawn
up the county council and its leisure partners have announced.
Powys County Council and Freedom Leisure are looking to install the new pitches at Llanfair Caereinion Sports Centre and Llanfyllin Sports Centre to replace the outdated pitches. The 3G pitches could be suitable for football, hockey and a number of other outdoor sports.
As part of the plans, new and improved energy saving floodlighting schemes could be installed.
A planning application will be submitted and a tender process will begin shortly. If given the go-ahead, the work could take place in the summer.
The plans for the two new pitches follow the recent investment in Llanidloes that saw the council install a brand-new 3G pitch at the town’s sports centre, which is now managed by Freedom Leisure.
Cllr Rachel Powell, Cabinet Member for Young People and Culture, said: “I’m delighted that we are working with Freedom Leisure and looking to install 3G pitches at the sports centres in Llanfair Caereinion and Llanfyllin.
“If these developments go ahead, not only will it demonstrate our continued commitment to provide high-quality, inclusive and fully accessible leisure facilities for all communities in Powys, but it will be another great example of partnership working between the council and Freedom Leisure.”
Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Education and Property, said: “One of our aims in the Strategy for Transforming Education in Powys is to improve the learner entitlement and experience. We have started the journey to improve the learner entitlement and experience in Llanfair Caereinion and Llanfyllin by creating all- through schools in both towns.
“The new pitches, which could enhance facilities at both centres, would help the council meet this aim. Not only would these new pitches enhance the facilities at both centres that members of the community would benefit from, but they would also provide suitable surfaces to help learners improve and enhance their sportingprowess and their wellbeing.”
Gwyn Owen, Freedom Leisure’s Area Manager for Powys, said: “These new 3G pitches could be very beneficial for our customers in Llanfair Caereinion and Llanfyllin to remain as active and healthy as possible. The new pitches would be a fantastic incentive to encourage outdoor activities for all.”
Cllr Gareth Jones, County Councillor for Llanfair Caereinion, said: “To be finally in this position is fantastic news for so many sporting groups within our community. The new 3G pitch would also be a great resource to Ysgol Bro Caereinion enabling learners to maximise their sporting potential. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who are working hard to make this happen.”
Cllr Peter Lewis, County Councillor for Llanfyllin, said: “This is fantastic news for Llanfyllin. The 3G pitch will be an enormous benefit to Ysgol Llanfyllin and all the other sporting groups that use the leisure centre but also make it more accessible for more groups from all around the area to use a superior all-weather facility in Llanfyllin.”
