Biography My extensive teaching career began in 1977, working in various schools in the South Wales valleys until 1984. In 1985 I was appointed to a large inner-city school in Cardiff working with pupils from 3 to 11 with a focus on special needs. During my time in Cardiff, I was elected teacher governor. In 2006 I retired but was encouraged to return to work in a large special school in Penarth which is now called Ysgol Y Deri the largest Special School in Wales. Finally, I took on a one-year contract at Llanfair Caereinion High School teaching food technology. Throughout my career I have had considerable experience of children with Additional Needs, and I am particular fond of working with pupils with ASD. During my last years in Special School, I was responsible for delivering many qualifications including English, Art and Food Technology.
