Mae myfyrwyr o Ysgol Llanfyllin wedi bod yn mynd i’r afael â materion cymdeithasol drwy gefnogi elusennau lleol fel rhan o Raglen a ddarperir gan elusen gweithredu cymdeithasol First Give.

Roedd yn ddigwyddiad ysbrydoledig yn dangos angerdd ac ymroddiad pobl ifanc i achosion lleol yn y gymuned y maent yn gofalu amdani a’r enillwyr oedd: DPJ Foundation o ddosbarth 9A En2. Cododd y disgyblion ymwybyddiaeth o’r elusen iechyd meddwl hynod bwysig hon trwy gynnal Diwrnod Gwisgwch Wellies, cynnal gwasanaeth ar-lein a thrwy hyrwyddo gwybodaeth am yr elusen o amgylch safle’r ysgol. Rhoddwyd clod arbennig hefyd i ddisgyblion 9A En1, a oedd yn cefnogi Shelter Cymru, am yr animeiddiad a grëwyd ganddynt i fynd i mewn i’w cyflwyniad.
Dywedodd Dewi Owen, Pennaeth Ysgol Llanfyllin. “Mae hwn wedi bod yn gyfle anhygoel i’n pobl ifanc i gymryd yr awenau ar faterion pwysig o fewn ein cymuned leol. Cefais fy syfrdanu gan lefelau eu hyder pan oeddent yn cyflwyno eu canfyddiadau terfynol i’w grŵp blwyddyn gyfan. Mae prosiect First Give wedi cael effaith hynod gadarnhaol ar ein teulu ysgol gyfan. Llongyfarchiadau mawr i’r tîm buddugol ac i’r holl ddisgyblion a gymerodd ran.”
Young people at Ysgol Llanfyllin are making a difference by supporting local charities
Students from Ysgol Llanfyllin have been tackling social issues by supporting local charities as part of a Programme provided by a social action charity First Give.
Year 9 students have engaged in social action in support of their chosen charities, and have competed in Ysgol Llanfyllin’s school final on 4th February 2022. At the school final, judges saw presentations from the students about each charity and the students’ work, to decide which class would be awarded a £1,000 First Give grant for their charity.
It was an inspiring event showing the passion and dedication of young people to local causes in the community that they care about and the winners were: DPJ Foundation from class 9A En2. The pupils raised awareness of this very important mental health charity by having a Wear Wellies Day, conducting an assembly online and by promoting information about the charity around the school site. A special award of commendation was also given to the pupils from 9A En1, who were supporting Shelter Cymru, for the animation that they created to go into their presentation. Dewi Owen, the Head teacher of Ysgol Llanfyllin has commented, “This has been an amazing opportunity for our young people to take the lead on important issues within our local community. I was amazed at their levels of confidence when they were presenting their final findings to their whole year group. The First Give project has had a hugely positive effect on our whole school family. Huge congratulations to the winning team and to all pupils who took part.”
