Mae Cyngor Sir Powys a Freedom Leisure wedi cyhoeddi bod cae chwarae 3G newydd sbon mewn canolfan chwaraeon yng ngogledd Powys bellach ar agor.

Mae archebion nawr yn cael eu cymryd ar gyfer y cae chwarae 3G newydd sydd wedi cael ei osod yng Nghanolfan Chwaraeon Llanfyllin.

Gorffennwyd y gwaith o osod y cae chwarae newydd y mis diwethaf (Rhagfyr).  Mae’r cyfleusterau’n cynnwys cynllun llifoleuadau gwell, gwaith draenio a ffensys ar hyd yr ymylon.  Cafodd y gwaith ei wneud gan Pave Aways Ltd.

Bydd y cae 3G yn addas ar gyfer pêl-droed, hoci ac amrywiaeth eang o chwaraeon awyr agored eraill.  Bydd y cae ar gael i’w ddefnyddio gan gymunedau ac ymwelwyr yn ardal Llanfyllin a’r cyffiniau.

Mae gan y cyfleuster hwn arwyneb delfrydol ar gyfer misoedd y gaeaf pan fydd caeau chwaraeon glaswellt yn troi’n fwdlyd ac felly’n amhosib i’w defnyddio.

Mae’r prosiect hwn yn rhan o’r rhaglen gyfalaf i wella cyfleusterau ar draws y sir i ddarparu budd cadarnhaol i iechyd a lles cymunedau Powys.

Meddai’r Cynghorydd David Selby, Aelod Cabinet ar gyfer Powys Mwy Llewyrchus: Rwy’n falch iawn bod y cae 3G bellach ar agor ac rwy’n sicr bod y cymunedau chwaraeon yng ngogledd Powys yn edrych ymlaen at ddefnyddio’r cyfleuster newydd hwn.

“Mae’r datblygiad hwn yn dangos ein hymrwymiad parhaus i ddarparu cyfleusterau hamdden o safon, sy’n gynhwysol a chwbl hygyrch i gymunedau ym Mhowys.  Mae hefyd yn enghraifft wych arall o bartneriaeth rhwng y cyngor a Freedom Leisure.”

Meddai’r Cynghorydd Pete Roberts, Aelod Cabinet ar gyfer Powys sy’n Dysgu: “Un o’r nodau yn y Strategaeth Trawsnewid Addysg ym Mhowys a diweddarwyd yn ddiweddar yw gwella hawl a phrofiad dysgwyr.

“Bydd y cae chwaraeon newydd a fydd yn gwella’r cyfleusterau yn y ganolfan, yn helpu’r cyngor i gyrraedd y nod hwn. Nid yn unig y bydd aelodau’r gymuned yn elwa o’r cae newydd hwn, ond bydd hefyd yn darparu arwyneb pob tywydd i helpu dysgwyr i wella eu gallu chwaraeon a’u lles.”

Dywedodd Richard Milne, Rheolwr Ardal Freedom Leisure (Gogledd Cymru): “Rydym wrth ein bodd i fod yn rhedeg y cae chwarae 3G newydd hwn mewn partneriaeth â Chyngor Sir Powys. Mae’n ychwanegiad gwych i’r gymuned leol, gan ganiatáu mynediad i gyfleusterau o’r radd flaenaf.”

Dywedodd Dewi Owen, Pennaeth Ysgol Llanfyllin: “Mae’r cae newydd yn edrych yn anhygoel ac yn mynd i fod yn hwb enfawr i’r ysgol ac i’r gymuned leol.

“Bydd y cynnydd yn nifer y bobl a fydd yn cymryd rhan mewn chwaraeon yn sylweddol iawn a bydd hyn yn cael effaith hynod gadarnhaol ar iechyd corfforol a meddyliol disgyblion sy’n hanfodol yn y blynyddoedd hyn ar ôl y pandemig. Mae hwn yn ddatblygiad pwysig iawn i’n cymuned ni yma yng ngogledd sir Drefaldwyn.

“Mae ein disgyblion wedi cael eu rhyfeddu gan y gwaith adeiladu a hoffwn ddiolch i Pave Aways am y ffordd y maen nhw wedi cynnwys yr ysgol a’n disgyblion ym mhob cam o’r broses gyda theithiau o amgylch y safle a sesiynau gwybodaeth.”

Dywedodd Jamie Evans, Cyfarwyddwr Adeiladu Pave Aways: “Rydym wedi mwynhau bod yn rhan o’r bartneriaeth gan ddod â’r cyfleuster newydd gwerthfawr hwn i’r gymuned.

“Rydyn ni wedi gallu dysgu mwy am adeiladu a’r broses o greu’r cae yma i’r plant felly rydym yn  gobeithio y byddwn wedi ysbrydoli rhai adeiladwyr y dyfodol.  Mae hefyd wedi bod yn fuddsoddiad pwysig yn economi Powys gyda’r defnydd o is-gontractwyr a deunyddiau lleol gyda’r cerrig yn dod o Gefn Coch ger Llanfair Caereinion.”

Mae Pave Aways hefyd wedi rhoi £500 o offer chwaraeon i’r ysgol gan hefyd noddi cit ar gyfer tîm o 15 y bydd yr ysgol yn ei derbyn y mis hwn (Ionawr).

A brand-new 3G pitch at a north Powys sports centre is now open, Powys County Council and Freedom Leisure has announced.

Bookings are now being taken for the new 3G pitch that has been installed at Llanfyllin Sports Centre.

Work to install the new pitch, including an improved floodlighting scheme, drainage works and perimeter fencing, finished last month (December).  The installation was carried out by Pave Aways Ltd.

The 3G pitch will be suitable for football, hockey and a wide variety of other outdoor sports for the communities and visitors in and around the Llanfyllin area to use.

The improved facility is an ideal surface during the winter months when grass fields and pitches become muddy and unusable.

This project is part of the capital programme to improve facilities across the county to provide positive benefit to the health and well-being to the communities of Powys.

Cllr David Selby, Cabinet Member for a More Prosperous Powys, said: I’m delighted that the 3G pitch is now open and I’m sure that the sporting communities in north Powys are looking forward to using this new facility.

“This development demonstrates our continued commitment to provide high-quality, inclusive and fully accessible leisure facilities for communities in Powys.  It is also another great example of partnership working between the council and Freedom Leisure.”

Cllr Pete Roberts, Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys, said: “One of the aims in the recently updated Strategy for Transforming Education in Powys is to improve the learner entitlement and experience.

“The new pitch, which will enhance the facilities at the centre, will help the council meet this aim. Not only will members of the community benefit from this new pitch, but it will also provide an all-weather surface to help learners improve and enhance their sporting prowess and their wellbeing.”

Richard Milne, Freedom Leisure’s Area Manager (North Wales), said: “We’re delighted to be operating this new 3G pitch in partnership with Powys County Council. It’s a fantastic addition for the local community, allowing access to state-of-the-art facilities.”

Dewi Owen, Headteacher of Ysgol Llanfyllin, said: “The new pitch looks incredible and is going to be a huge boost to both the school and local community.

“The increase in participation in sport is going to be very significant and this will have a hugely positive effect on pupils’ physical and mental health, which is vital in these post pandemic years. This is a very important development for our community here in north Montgomeryshire.

“Our pupils have been fascinated by the construction work and I’d like to thank Pave Aways for the way they have included the school and our pupils in every step of the process with site tours and information sessions.”

Pave Aways’ construction director Jamie Evans said: “We have very much enjoyed being part of the partnership bringing this valuable new facility to the community.

“We have been able to teach children more about construction and the process of creating this pitch so we hope we may have inspired some builders of the future. It’s also been an important investment in the Powys economy with the use of local sub contractors and materials including stone coming from Cefn Coch near Llanfair Caereinion.”

Pave Aways has also donated £500 of sports equipment to the school and sponsored a 15-strong team kit that the school will receive this month (January).
